Autumn Afternoon

Rain has fallen and leaves
glisten with sunlit jewels.
A gentle wind reminds the trees
to send down their gifts to earth.
And we,
Observers of this scene,
marvel,
As the beauty of this ancient mystery
continues.

An Autumn Day

Dancing leaves on a fall November day,
Birch bark white against an azure sky,
The fading sun,
Warm,
And tinted orange,
As the afternoon
Slips away
To frosty night.
